Local resident David Beverly has been chosen by North Oxfordshire Conservative Association to contest the recently announced Town Council by-election in Hardwick West.
The election, which has been called following the retirement of longstanding Councillor John Donaldson, will take place on Tuesday 4 September.
David works in the heart of the town at Jacobs Douwe Egberts (formerly Kraft) and is already involved in the local community; he is a volunteer with the Town Council’s Snow Warden scheme, a singer in, and Treasurer of, Banbury Choral Society and a school governor at St John’s Catholic Primary School.
He said: “I am delighted to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for this important election. Banbury Conservatives have a strong track record of delivering good quality local services whilst maintaining low Council Tax. This is a message I look forward to taking to the doorsteps of Hardwick West. I am eager to get out on the campaign trail and speak to as many residents as possible.”
David has the backing of Banbury's Member of Parliament, Victoria Prentis: “David will be a great champion for our community. I have already met him to discuss residents’ priorities including service provision at the Horton Hospital, local unauthorised traveller encampments, and the transfer of ownership for the bungalows on Banesberie Close.”
