Local Conservative Councillors, led by Cllr Eddie Reeves, have been concerned about the ‘sink hole’ on the A361, near Wardington, since it first appeared.
Oxfordshire County Council has inspected the hold and suggested an alternative route towards Daventry via the A423 Southam Road and the A425 Daventry Road.
Villagers in Cropredy are being disproportionately impacted as a result of drivers not following the suggested diversion. With a highways budget of £70.6 million in 2024/5 and an extra £3 million granted for road repairs in 2023/4, it is time that Oxfordshire County Council took road maintenance in the North of the county seriously.
Commenting on the sink hole, Cllr Eddie Reeves, said:
“Under LibDem management, Oxfordshire County Council spends just 62p in North Oxfordshire for every £1 spent in the city of Oxford.
“That must change, and the sink hole must now be fixed.”
