Today marks a very special day as the Horton General Hospital celebrates its 150th birthday.
Opened on 17 July 1872, the Horton was a gift to the people of Banbury from its namesake Mary-Ann Horton. Since then, the Horton has been a constant in our community providing first-class healthcare to generations of local people.
Banbury Conservatives said: “The Horton is simply irreplaceable. It has been a difficult and uncertain few years for our hospital but the local community has always been right behind it and we are proud to have stood with residents on that campaign. We will always fight for the future of our hospital because we know how much it means to local people. So many of us will have our own reasons to be grateful to the Horton and its incredible staff.
On this tremendous milestone, we join with the whole of Banbury, and the surrounding villages, to say happy birthday to the Horton and thank you to all its staff both past and present.”
