Accident and Emergency provision across Oxfordshire will receive a funding boost this winter after the Government announced spending of £300 million to help the NHS prepare for the approaching winter months.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is set to receive £3.6 million under the fund with part of this allocation ringfenced for the A&E department at the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.
Welcoming the news Banbury Conservatives said: “Our local NHS has worked tirelessly throughout the coronavirus pandemic. While we hope for the best this winter, it is important that we plan for all outcomes and this funding will help to ensure that both the Horton and the John Radcliffe remain in the best shape possible to continue to deliver safe and accessible emergency care during the normally busy winter period while reducing the risk of coronavirus infections.”
