Services for Ruscote families will receive a big boost following the announcement of a £440,000 extension to the Sunshine Centre.
The Sunshine Centre is a vital local resource that provides a wide range of early years services and support for parents. It is the only early years’ service in Oxfordshire to hold an ‘Outstanding’ rating for looked after Children and Children on the edge of care. The extension will ensure that a broader range of outreach services can be accommodated on-site, enabling them to operate closer to the communities they serve.
Funding for the expansion will comprise £120,000 of capital funding from Conservative-controlled Cherwell District Council and £320,000 from section 106 funding secured from the developers of the nearby Bloor Homes development. Work is set to start on site in early June with the build scheduled to last 24 weeks.
Banbury Conservatives said: “The Sunshine Centre is a key local service that provides award-winning care to local families. This expansion will be transformative for the families it provides for and is a deserved endorsement of its fantastic work.”
