On Friday 5 May, results were announced in the Oxfordshire County Council elections. Overall, the Council picture remained much the same with the Conservatives falling short of an overall majority after some high profiles losses.
But, in a ringing endorsement of a positive local campaign, North Oxfordshire Conservatives gained two seats from Labour in Banbury with Eddie Reeves regaining Banbury Calthorpe and Tony Ilott pipping Surinder Dhesi to the Banbury Hardwick seat by 55 votes. Banbury Labour retained seats in Ruscote and Grimsbury and Castle with Mark Cherry and Hannah Banfield respectively. Across the rest of North Oxfordshire, from Wroxton and Hook Norton to Ploughley, Conservative candidates held seats with increased majorities. Full results of local seats can be found below:
