Fantastic news that groundworks on Banbury's much-anticipated Castle Quay II development will begin today. The £60 million expansion which will include a new cinema, supermarket, and restaurants is being spearheaded by Conservative-controlled Cherwell District Council.
"A major lift for the town", several big names remain committed to CQII. Lidl will occupy the supermarket space while Premier Inn is opening a 117-bedroom hotel. In a boost to the town’s night-time offer, the 1300-seat multiplex cinema will be run by The Light Cinema alongside six canal-side restaurants filled by Zizzi, Nando’s, Handmade Burger Company and Chiquito’s, with two more still to be named. The public realm will also be improved with a new 600 space car park and increased accessibility with a new footbridge over the canal.
