The new children’s play area at Easington Recreation Ground was unveiled today at an official opening.
The £350,000 makeover of the Rec is being delivered by Conservative-controlled Banbury Town Council and will include, when complete, not just the new play park, but a multi-use games area, improved football pitches and refurbished changing rooms transforming this already-popular local green space. Parking facilities for the Ground will be provided by Harriers View School so residents from across Banbury and the surrounding area can enjoy the facilities.
Praising the refurbishment, Easington North Town Councillor Tina Wren said: “The new play area looks fantastic. Banbury Town Council is proud to deliver such a modern and transformative project. The rec is used for leisure, sport and exercise and I am confident that the new facilities will be well-used by local residents.”
The official opening was attended by children from Harriers Banbury Academy and local Conservative Councillors including, as pictured from left to right Councillor Kieron Mallon, Leader of Banbury Town Councillor and Cherwell District Councillor for Calthorpe and Easington, Banbury Town Councillor for Easington North Tina Wren, Colin Clarke, current Town Mayor of Banbury and District Councillor for Calthorpe and Easington and local County Councillor Eddie Reeves.
