The mess at the Banbury Road roundabout is a big headache, all thanks to the Lib Dem led County Council after a total disregard to the public consultation as they decided to go ahead with a plan which the majority of respondents didn't like.
Rupert Harrison, the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Bicester & Woodstock, said. "It's clear from these plans that the Liberal Democrat led Oxfordshire County Council have chosen to ignore local preferences, resulting in higher costs and more disruption for drivers around Bicester. I'm working with local councillors and residents to minimise the impact of these roadworks and get the County Council to change track and listen to local residents with a simpler and less expensive scheme for the Banbury Road Roundabout."
To make matters worse, the council have now extended the closure of Fringford Road without advising residents or the Parish Council. There is a concern that this is likely to cause big traffic problems for the sold out Scramble Event at Bicester Heritage on Sunday April 21st.
Cllr Donna Ford, County Councillor for Bicester North, said "I have escalated the appalling disorganisation and the lack of communication regarding this project to the Chief Executive of Oxfordshire County Council. Bicester residents deserve to be treated better and I will be making sure we get action on getting this sorted."
