Conservative-controlled Cherwell District Council has secured £770,000 of Government funding to further the Bicester Garden Town project. The grant, which was one of the largest amounts awarded nationally, will help to enable the development of Bicester as it grows, whilst improving the lives of residents who already live in the town.
Public consultations on options for spending the funding will now take place with enhancements to local green spaces and to the Healthy Bicester programme top priorities. More than £100,000 has already been earmarked for the design of improvements to Bicester town centre, including Market Square.
