600 new Police Officers are set to be recruited in the Thames Valley after the Prime Minister pledged to increase police numbers.
Thames Valley Police is one of 45 police forces in England and Wales. If the 20,000 promised Officers nationwide were divvied out equally between all of the forces, then TVP would end up with just shy of 450.
North Oxfordshire MP Victoria Prentis recently wrote to the Home Secretary, the Rt Hon Priti Patel MP, to request additional police resource locally. The recruitment drive, which is anticipated to start this month, will be a welcome boost to frontline policing in our communities.
Thames Valley Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld commented: "My recent discussions with Government continue to be positive and I have received initial estimates of 600 new officers for the Thames Valley. I will continue to press the need for Thames Valley to receive the share of officers it requires."
